Did you know that you can sell your old cell phone for cash? Like so many of us, you may have an old cell phone tucked into a drawer that you don’t use anymore. Guess what? That old cell phone could be worth anywhere from $1 to $100. What’s the point of keeping it around anyway? If you aren’t going to donate it, then why not get some cash for that old cell phone!
There are many websites you can go to and find what your old cell phone is worth. However, each website may be different with the price they will pay you for your old cell phone (if a buy-back is offered at all). You need to visit several websites to find the right deal for you. All you have to do is enter the make and model of your cell phone into the correct search boxes to see if a buy-back is offered.
To test some of these cash for cell phones websites, I entered in my current phone, a Sprint Palm Treo 755p, into each one of the websites to see what it’s worth.
Here are the results:
- www.sellthisphone.com: $35
- www.phoneiscash.com: $30
- www.casholdphone: $30
- www.cellforcash.com: $16
- www.gazelle.com: $37
As you can see, Gazelle.com will pay me the most for my cell phone. What I liked about the www.gazelle.com website is that in figuring out the price they were going to give me, they actually asked some questions such as:
- Does your phone make calls successfully?
- Is your phone free of water damage?
- What would you rate your cell phone: poor, fair, good or excellent?
In addition, they asked such questions as:
- Do you have:
- AC Adapter
- Rechargeable Battery
- Original Software CD
- Original Manuals
- Original Cables
They took all the answers to these questions into consideration before giving me the price they would pay me for my old cell phone. None of the other websites did this. All they asked for was the manufacturer’s name and the model of my cell phone.
Some of the companies will pay for shipping, like Gazelle.com (another reason why I liked them), and send you a box with a prepaid shipping label, and some won’t. The companies that won’t pay for shipping explain that if they did, it would delay the whole transaction process. So, if you’re looking to get your cash fast, you may want to pick a website that asks you to ship the phone on your own dollar. Otherwise, wait for the postage-paid mailing box.
