If you have a blog and are active on it, chances are you like to write. Otherwise, writing on your blog would be tedious and you probably wouldn’t do it very often which means you wouldn’t have many readers.
Some bloggers blog just for the sheer joy of writing and don’t care if they make any money at it, and some bloggers monetize their blogs so they can turn their joy of writing into a part-time, or in some cases, a full-time business.
However, if you love to write and have been told you’re pretty good at it, but don’t want to setup, or don’t know how to setup a blog, or you just want to have a steady paycheck coming in, then maybe freelance writing is for you; at least an occupation worth looking into.
I came across an article written by Nicholas of WrittenRoad.com. The article, “Writing for Suite101.com and About.com: Is It Worth It?” talks about the two websites mentioned in the title that hire freelance writers on more or less a permanent basis. The author of the article writes for Suite101.com and shares his views on writing for this website. He also sheds some light on what it takes to get a job with About.com as a freelance writer.
