About Me
I started this blog because my friends and family always asked me what I was doing to make money. It seemed that I always had a new way to earn money that was different than the time before, and always able to afford my specialty coffee drink habit (among other things).
BACKGROUND
I have an undergraduate degree in Corporate Communications from Drexel University and an M.B.A. with a specialization in Marketing from St. Joseph’s University. My Corporate background includes working in the marketing, advertising and promotions arena for five different telecommunication start-up companies.
One of the most fun and challenging positions I held was for Sprint PCS when they first launched their digital PCS service in the Philadelphia area. I was their Advertising and Promotions Manager. I guess you could say I was one of their first customers–carrying around that digital Sony brick phone! Anyone remember that phone?
Moving on…..In the year 2000 the telecommunications start-up company where I was the Marketing Director, lost its’ funding. My son was two at the time. I was fortunate enough to hang up my heels and put away my briefcase and be able to stay at home to be with him full time.
MY PASSION
My passion is finding new ways to earn a living and be able to be with my kids and available for my family. You could almost call it an obsession! It’s an exciting challenge to be able to earn my own money from home in order to afford my specialty coffee habit and fund my own IRA, all while maintaining a balanced married life that includes taking care of two children, a home, and two pets.
MY BELIEF
I believe that every woman that has the opportunity to stay at home with her children should continue to learn new skills, sharpen the old ones, and continue to save money for the unexpected. You never know if you will need or want to go back to work once the kids are in school full time. In addition, I believe it’s important for a woman to continue to save for retirement or add to the family’s savings vehicle while away from the workforce.
There’s no explaining the feeling of empowerment you get from being able to help in this capacity and knowing that you can take care of yourself and your family if you are ever called upon to do so. The only way to do this is to work in some capacity from home if being home with the kids is your top priority.
MY GOAL
My goal with this blog is to help shed some light on the REAL work from home opportunities that exist. With the money earned from a work from home job, an IRA (or other savings vehicle) can be opened and funded with this new source of income. In addition, I’m a sucker for a good deal, and get excited about new saving opportunities all of which will be shared with you at MyMochaMoney.
Please feel free to subscribe to my newsletter below and get exclusive REAL work at home and online business strategies that you cannot necessarily find here on the blog, as well as free access to my eBook, MyMochaMoney.com’s Ultimate Guide to FUNd Money, which has been downloaded more than 1,250 times!
THE FUTURE (Updated January, 2013)
When I first created MyMochaMoney, I never imagined that years later it would lead me to an entirely new business–one with which I am truly passionate about–helping local businesses with their online marketing strategies. This includes SEO, social media marketing, email marketing, video creation, article writing and more.
So far, I’ve had the privilege of consulting with a couple of restaurants, a start-up biotech company, a healthcare practice management company, and a local charity.
Although I don’t consult full time, it has been a wonderful addition to my online ventures and I hope to continue to be blessed with more of these opportunities in the future.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you stop by often and share your comments!

Driving traffic to your site. It really looks good now. Plenty of stuff on it.
Thanks, Art!
Melissa, I think you would benefit from putting your Twitter address on this page (if you have one..if you don’t, you should

You’re right, Shane; I should!
See, it worked. I’m following you now.
@Melissa,
Awesome success story. Great work accomplishing your goals and juggling a family life. I’m still looking for ways to build my domains past WhyPark.
I would rather earn more revenue in one day than in an entire month with hundreds of domains. I’m having problem signing up for the eBay affiliate. Twice I failed to figure out the .txt verification process.
I have 3 domains in a popular category, with one scoring 3,000+ unique per month with no work. I plan to build links and add content on the site. I will definitely check you blog out again. It’s better to explore than to stick to only domain blogs.
Good luck. Thanks .
You Rock!!
