Buy Home Furnishings At 40-50% Off Retail–I Do!

by Melissa on February 4, 2010

Did you know that all it takes to become an interior decorator is a general business license, a resale handpainted tablenumber, and a business card?  That’s right–all you need are those three things and you can start buying your home furnishings at 40-50% off retail.

I learned this “secret” about nine years ago.  I bought a book called, “The Insider’s Guide to Buying Home Furnishings” by Kimberly Causey that explained in Chapter 19 how to go about becoming an interior decorator to take advantage of wholesale pricing.

I went ahead and did exactly what the author tells you to do in this book  in order to set yourself up as a decorator.  Before I knew it, I was attending Cash & Carry trade shows in my local area, and visiting the Marketplace in Philadelphia that’s exclusively reserved for the trade to shop.

Just to be clear, interior decorators are different than interior designers.  Interior designers usually have a college education in interior design.  Interior decorators usually do not.  However, that should not stop you from pursuing a career in interior decorating if it’s a passion of yours, or if receiving wholesale pricing on home furnishings is your ultimate goal.

Here are some customer testimonials:

“I learned more from this one book on decorating and saving $$ then all my classes and books combined. Makes a great reference. Well worth buying.”

“I saved thousands of dollars by following Ms. Causey’s tips and advice – on furniture, fabric, and even custom-made drapery! It’s hard to believe how easy it is to furnish with top-of-the-line designer goods at a fraction of the retail price.”

I highly recommend The Insider’s Guide to Buying Home Furnishings. In fact, when I first purchased this book back in 2001, I was so impressed by it, that I bought 100 copies to sell and give away to friends as birthday gifts and house warming gifts! So I truly stand behind this book. In fact, today, used copies are going for $.01 on Amazon!
