The autumn season is upon us and you know what that means–falling leaves, trick-or-treaters, Thanksgiving, Black Friday and CYBER MONDAY! For all of you who don’t know what Cyber Monday is, you can read my Cyber Monday post from last year. However, in a nutshell, it’s the Black Friday for ONLINE retailers. It falls on the Monday after Black Friday and this year, it will be on November 30th.
I love Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The reason I like Black Friday is because it kicks off the Christmas season. Of course I can get good deals on this day, but what I also like are the people you encounter when you go out early–really early. I don’t know what shoppers are like later on in the day, but the early birds all have something in common: We all got out of our warm beds much too early, to start our cold cars in the darkness of a holiday morning when we should all be asleep. Some how, we all find comraderie in this bizarre yearly tradition.
I find everyone to be really nice. We all have our coffees, and we’re all stuck in lines. Great short-term friendships are formed on Black Friday morning and what can I say–I like it!
However, I like Cyber Monday just as much. I can sit at my computer in my jammies with my cup of coffee and surf the internet for all those fabulous deals. First stop: SlickDeals.net. I’ll go there first because the folks that hang out in the Hot Deals Forum are on top of things and know where to find the best deals. Then, they’ll post them.
My recommendation would be to visit the Hot Deals Forum a few days in advance. Some people have the “skinny” on upcoming sales and deals and they’ll share them with the rest of the group.
