I came across an interesting Guide today on eBay titled, “Attracting More Traffic To Your eBay Listing.”
It makes sense that if you’re running traditional eBay auctions or Buy It Now auctions on eBay that you want as much traffic as you can, and as many visitors as possible to visit your listings. The person with the userid, “postmedia” wrote a Guide on eBay that explains how his auctions, selling website businesses, were not getting as much traffic as other auctions selling in his same niche–and for much more money (this person is no longer registered at eBay. Not sure why because his Guide gave him #1 Reviewer status (hmmmm). However, his Guide must have some merit because 3921 people out of 4133, found his Guide helpful.
He explains in Attracting More Traffic To Your eBay Listing, that his competition, also selling website businesses primarily on eBay, was receiving about 900 visitors for a 7-day auction, whereas his auctions were only receiving about 60 visitors. The large difference in traffic numbers made him curious. He started to research his competitor’s listings and found out some interesting things about keywords, and how his competition was using them to their advantage. He, on the other hand, was missing out on what his competitors knew with regards to what their target market was searching for.
By the way, if you didn’t know this, eBay Guides are free to read. They’re written by eBay users that usually have some knowledge in their subject (that’s always good, right?!). However, some Guides are better than others.
