I just received the June issue of Skip McGrath’s eBay Seller’s News and one of the topics was using Twitter to increase eBay sales and profits.
Skip says that there are two ways Twitter can benefit you as an eBay seller. First if you have a lot of followers, one of them may be interested in what you are selling. This would probably work if you are selling in a narrow niche -especially if you sell to collectors. Skip uses this example: If you sold a specific collectible such as fountain pens or Starbucks mugs or animation art, then you could most likely quickly build a list of followers that are interested in this topic.
Skip says the second way this benefits you is that each individual “tweet” is like a web page in itself that can be found by Google. Here is an example. Skip did a search on Google for Laguiole wine knife and the search resulted in the Twitter “tweet” being the fourth item on the page.
