Can You Work At Home As An Affiliate Marketer? Part IV

Over the past month, I’ve been applying what I’ve learned in the “One Week Marketing” Plan created by “PotPieGirl” whose real name is Jennifer. Her system uses free tools such as Squidoo.com and free article sites such as ezinearticles.com among others to write articles and promote affiliate products (watch PotPieGirl’s system at work in the video below).

The affiliate product I decided to promote was a natural treatment to get rid of acne product called Acne No More. I thought it was a great product since it was created by a long-term acne sufferer, nutritionist, medical researcher and health consultant who invested thousands of clinical research hours on his acne system.

The person that developed this system, Mike Walden, guarantees his product works and will cure acne permanently if you follow his system. He claims that visible results can be seen within seven days, and dramatic results, if not permanent results, within two months.

According to PotPieGirl’s One Week Marketing plan, I wrote numerous “lenses” on Squidoo revolving around the keywords I decided to target for this program, and promoted my “how to get rid of acne” affiliate product. In fact, I have six lenses published on Squidoo at this time. Here they are:

One mistake I made however, was not always using the title of my lens in the url. Not only does the One Week Affiliate Marketing Plan tell you to do that, but several other affiliate marketing systems as well. I don’t know what I was thinking (I guess I wasn’t). I needed to pay better attention to the material to do exactly what is spelled out for you. And believe me, Jennifer (a.k.a PotPieGirl), spells everything out for you in her book. Another critical action step I didn’t do until yesterday was start submitting articles to article directories.

I’ve only submitted one article so far to Ezinearticles.com; this is the main article directory that PotPieGirl suggests submitting to in her book. She suggests submitting at least one article per Squidoo lens. I’ve only submitted one article so far for my Getting Married? Cure Your Acne Fast Before Your Wedding Day! lens and it hasn’t been approved yet. That’s the drawback of submitting to Ezinearticles; they take up to seven days to approve your articles. However, it’s worth the wait because articles on Ezinearticles usually rank very high in Google.

I have to admit, I’m not sure I’m going to write the other five articles myself or have someone else write them. I posted a job on ODesk for candidates to submit bids on doing these articles for me. I could have all six articles done for $30 or less. If I sold an affiliate product or two, my investment would be returned. I’m really leaning toward this option of hiring people to do some of the work for me because I have too much to do at this time.

So I guess you’re wondering if I’ve made an affiliate sale yet of the Acne No More product. Yes! I have. Just one though. However, I’ve applied PotPieGirl’s One Week Affiliate Marketing Plan techniques to two other products I’m promoting and have made three additional sales combined with those products. I’ve made all these sales without any article marketing as of yet. That’s what I need to do next. Again, I really think I’ll hire writers for the article marketing. I’ll either hire them from ODesk or Wealthy Affiliate (I’ll talk more about Wealthy Affiliate in an upcoming post) to free me up to do more market research.
