Today I bartered (or at least attempted a barter trade) with the guys at AsellerTool.com for a free membership to their site, and I’m waiting to hear from them whether or not they will accept my barter request. If you’re not a regular reader of this blog, you many want to read my post explaining what the AsellerTool is all about.
In a nutshell, the ASellerTool allows your PDA to store the pricing database for all ISBNs for books, and UPC codes for VHS, DVD, Music CD, software and games. When you type in the ISBN/UPC, or scan a barcode with a scanner, the pricing result is returned to you INSTANTLY on the PDA screen, or through sound notification. Obviously, if you’re someone that sells used and/or new books on Amazon, or wants to sell used and/or new books on Amazon or any of the above mentioned items, this tool can be extremely valuable. Here’s my dilemma: I pay a monthly fee to ASeller to have access to their software that allows me to book scout REALLY fast–it’s totally worth the $30 monthly fee (right now they have a promotional rate of $25.50 if you sign a one-year contract) because you could find just one item that would sell on Amazon for a profit and pay for your monthly membership. However, I spend so much time on MyMochaMoney.com, that I have little time to book scout. Honestly, I miss it because it’s tons of fun.
My barter exchange suggestion to the guys at Aseller was for them to waive my monthly membership fee in return for one post per week on MyMochaMoney.com that was about what great items I found with the AsellerTool in the past week that I could sell on Amazon (maybe even on Craigslist or eBay) and make a profit.
In addition, I would include a mention of ASeller in my highly ranked post, “Sell Used Books On Amazon For Profit–Great Home Business.” At the time I’m writing this post, I’m ranked #8 on Google out of 107,000,000 competitors for my chosen keywords for this post.
I would continue to write one post per week about the great finds I’m locating with the ASellerTool. I’d link all my posts together and create a series. I would also link in to this series from other websites I write on making sure that I achieved a high Google rank for my ASeller posts.
I believe this is a win-win situation overall. I would get great blog content from being able to report about the cool things I discover with the ASeller product, and they get targeted traffic to their website.
More traffic=more potential customers!
If the ASeller guys are still unsure whether or not this is a good deal for them, they could certainly measure my barter exchange proposal by asking people who referred them to the ASeller website. In addition, I consider myself a fair person. If they thought the arrangement wasn’t working out from their standpoint, they could end it at any time.
At this time, I am waiting for the guys at ASeller to get back to me. I’m hopeful that they will see the benefits of this barter exchange.
