WORK AT HOME AS AN AFFILIATE MARKETER?
I talk a lot about REAL work at home opportunities with REAL companies here at MyMochaMoney.com, however, I’ve never talked about working from home as an affiliate marketer. The reason I haven’t done so until now is because the majority of people don’t know what an affiliate marketer does, and it usually takes time and patience to build an income as an affiliate marketer.
I make a little bit of money as an affiliate marketer. I’m an affiliate of Amazon and eBay and some other companies. Even so, there is plenty for me to learn in the affiliate marketing arena. From what I read, there are people making thousands of dollars a day just from promoting other people’s products as an affiliate marketer.
AN AFFILIATE MARKETING SYSTEM
The other day, a product online caught my eye. It was an ebook by “PotPieGirl” called “OneWeekMarketing.” The One Week Marketing Action Plan is a 5-guide package designed for those that need a solid system to begin making money with affiliate marketing. This plan is focused on making campaigns online to promote a product using all free-to-use websites, methods, and techniques. I really liked PotPieGirl’s sale’s page and the fact that one of her guides is over 100-pages of correspondence between her and a “student” of the OneWeekMarketing technique as he learns each and every step of the program.
MY EXPERIENCE TESTING A NEW AFFILIATE MARKETING SYSTEM
I read PotPieGirl’s guides on Sunday, March 29, and started using her methods that very afternoon. Her free methods include using Squidoo.com to promote your affilate product. I’m not going to go into all the details here (because you can download her 50+ page, step-by-step instruction, “How To Squidoo Guide for FREE), but I started doing what she said to do like pick an affiliate product you’d like to promote (I picked a natural treatment to cure acne called Acne No More primarily because I used to have less than perfect skin to say the least!) and start creating lenses on Squidoo. Squidoo lenses are like blog posts, or little individual web pages. As of today, I created two lenses: Best Acne Treatment Found! and Finally, A Natural Treatment To Cure Acne! My goal is to create ten lenses based on the Acne No More product and targeting different long-tail keywords. NOTE: Squidoo has removed these lenses and the lenses of many other people who were promoting acne treatment products or information, weight-loss products and more. I am in the process of setting up a separate website to promote this acne treatment product.
I promoted those two lenses like PotPieGirl told me to do, however, I still need to write an article and submit it to ezinearticles.com promoting my lenses in the article (actually in the bio box since ezinearticles is fussy about allowing authors to promote affiliate products. I actually took it one step further: I made a video and posted it to YouTube, and included it on my two lenses. Here it is:
My experience has told me that videos rank high and fast in Google. We shall see.
Anyway, PotPieGirl gives three free advertising websites to help you get links back to your Squidoo Lenses. I checked, and I happen to rank #3 for the long-tail keyword, “best natural treatment to cure acne” on one of those sites. Love the long-tail keywords! I know I can’t compete for the terms, “cure acne,” or “natural acne treatment,” so I picked out some long-tail keywords in which I know I can compete. I will create additional Lenses with those long-tail keywords in the days that follow.
So far, I have had six people look at my Lenses–but it’s really only Day #1. I haven’t had anyone click through to the sales page of the “Acne No More” product I’m promoting at BestAcneTreatmentSite.com
(by the way, I bought this domain for $9.99 so it’s not so obvious that I’m promoting an affiliate product).
