Here’s A Quick Way To Make Extra Money: Be A Mystery Shopper!

I know I’ve talked about mystery shopping before, but I thought I would reiterate how easy it is to make extra money by being a mystery shopper. I’m not saying you can quit your day job, however, you can easily bring in an extra $100-$500 per month doing this part-time.

I was just going through my emails, and found that since February 10 (that would be fourteen days since today is February 24), I have one hundred and eleven emails from mystery shopping companies offering me (and other mystery shoppers) the opportunity to mystery shop with them. These offers came from fourteen different mystery shop companies. I have applied to all of these companies in the past so that’s why I receive emails from them for job openings in and around the area I live.

Let’s just pretend that I applied to every one of those one hundred and eleven mystery shopping jobs and got all of them. This doesn’t normally happen because I’m not the only mystery shopper that they send job openings to, and even if I got all one hundred and eleven jobs, I would have to complete all of the assignments including written reports. However, for fun, let’s just say that I was assigned all of those jobs. Let’s also pretend that each job paid on average $10-$15 per shop. In reality, some paid more (upward of $40), and some paid less (a $5 shop fee plus free food). If I was paid $10-$15 per shop and completed all one hundred and eleven jobs, I would have made anywhere between $1,100-$1,665, and that’s just fourteen days worth of shop offers!

Again, in reality, I wouldn’t have received all one hundred and eleven mystery shopping job offers because other shoppers might respond faster than me. However, even if I just completed fifty job offers in an entire month, on average I would receive approximately $500-$750 plus free food and other discounts or free offers (keep in mind there are other things to take into consideration like gas mileage and your time).

Anyone that says mystery shopping is not a REAL job, hasn’t looked into it, or just doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I’ve done it for over ten years in my spare time and can tell you without a doubt that it’s a REAL part-time opportunity with REAL companies. Plus, if you’re a stay-at-home parent, most of the job offers allow you to bring your kids along. I can’t tell you how many bank mystery shops I’ve done in the past where I brought my son when he was about three years old. The shops paid me $25 each and I could do about four or five bank shops in a day and they took me about twenty minutes to complete plus a short report. Not bad for a day’s work!
