Learn How To Save Money Now WITHOUT Sacrificing At Wisebread.com

by Melissa on February 8, 2009

I’m a big fan of money-saving websites, so when I learned about Wisebread.com from the February 13th issue of “The Week” magazine, I thought I would check it out.

Wisebread.com whose motto is, “Living large on a small budget,” is a group blog run by people who are dedicated to scrimping and saving money. These folks give advice freely from their own lives and link to other resources around the internet to help their readers get the best personal finance advice.

Wise Bread’s Mission:

They believe people on a budget can still enjoy fabulous and fun lives, and share tips to help you live large without sacrificing your financial independence.

Wise Bread will help you discover:

* Savvy shopping tips to keep you stylish, sassy, and solvent.
* Financial advice that is easy to understand and easy to apply.
* Career and money-making ideas that will add zeros to your bank account.
* General adulthood know-how your parents forgot to tell you.

Wise Bread’s Philosophy: You can have fun saving money!

Too many financial experts focus on the negative aspects of money management. They freely throw around words like “sacrifice” and “responsibility” like there was a fire sale at the Boring Store.

The answer to financial independence isn’t a ramen-eating, vacation-skipping, fun-depriving life. Far from it. The best way to ensure that you will stick to a budget is to create a lifestyle that is as much fun as it is practical.

For example, instead of focusing on how you shouldn’t spend $20 a night at the movies, why not think about attending a free Bohemian art gallery exhibit instead?

Or, how about this: Did you know that you can actually save money by becoming a food snob?

And how would you like to get a personal shopper to cater to your fashion needs for free?

These are just some of the tips you’ll find here at Wise Bread.

Head on over to Wisebread.com and check it out, but make sure you have some time on your hands.  There’s a ton of money-saving information that you’re going to want to sort through and bookmark. If you have extra time on your hands, you may also want to visit these two penny-pinching themed websites: frugalliving.about.com, and frugaldad.com.
